The Challenge
A large-scale essential oil microencapsulation plant in Vietnam faced significant yield losses. During the 90°C steam conditioning and extrusion process, volatile active ingredients (Oregano Oil and Thymol) were rapidly lost to evaporation, leading to inconsistent final potency and strong odor leakage in the production facility.
The Solution
The technical team implemented Silfeed HC-200 as the specialized liquid carrier. Unlike traditional silica with open-pore structures, HC-200's engineered pore geometry and hydrophobic surface created a "molecular trap" that anchored the volatile molecules even under high-temperature stress.
Quantified Impact
By switching to the Silfeed carrier system, the plant achieved a standardized 40% increase in active ingredient retention compared to their previous silica supplier. Odor complaints from the surrounding community were eliminated, and the customer was able to reduce the "over-dosing" margin, saving thousands in raw material costs.
